Narrative

High on the circuit the path turns to scree — raw broken rock the mountain sheds, left exactly as it falls. This band is that stone: hammered, fractured, blackened, with one bright seam where the metal split like ice. The pilgrims considered the rough stretch the truest part of the walk. This is the truest part of the work.
