§ Firebird — The Monsoon Passage

The Stormwing Order

Where the monsoon first breaks against the cliffs, the order watched for the firebird — the single wing of flame that rides the season's opening storm. Its passage was their calendar: when it rose, the rains turned, the migrant birds came home, and the year began again. Every feather we recover still carries the heat of that crossing.
